Updated from ESXi 5.5 to 6.5. Now we have some network issues

Hello,

I updated one of our ProLiant DL380p Gen8 servers from ESXi 5.5, which runned fine, to 6.5. Now we have issues with the network card. I can ping the gateway and different IPs in the same network, but some IPs not.

DNS1: 10.201.0.128 - ping OK

DNS2: 10.201.0.129 - ping ERROR

Gateway: 10.201.0.1 - ping OK

Network Monitoring 1: 10.201.0.179 - ping OK

Network Monitoring 2: 10.201.0.119 - ping ERROR

Subnet: /24

I copied the old settings to the new installation.

Maybe anyone has an idea, how to fix that problem ?

Going back to 5.5 would be possible, but thats the last thing I would do.

Could it be that there is a load balancing misconfiguration ? Do you use static portchannels and/or load based on IP hash balancing ?

That helped me alot, so we found the problem.

The management network had two interfaces. We removed one cable and it worked fine.

After setting up the ESXi machine, plug in the cable and everything is working fine.
