Single vmfs datastore across two physical disks on ESXi host?

I have an ESXi host with a single 250GB drive and want to add another 250GB drive to the host.  Is it possible to have the two drives in the host act as single vmfs datastore?  This is for a test machine and there is no shared storage (nfs, LUNs, etc) available.  Can I add an extent after adding the second drive to the host?

Thanks,

Ken

yes it is possible and it's called vmfs spanning. however this is not recommended as any failure on one of the disk would make the whole vmfs unusable.

Thanks - I knew that was the case with LUNs and was hoping the rules might be different for local disks.....
