Procedure to configure VLANs without lossing connection

Hi guys,

I have a cluster with HA and DRS.

There is a vswitch with only one port group where all vms are connected now.

Port group:

COMPUTER 1

COMPUTER 2

COMPUTER 3

COMPUTER 4

VCENTER

DC

COMPUTER WITH VSPHERE CLIENT INSTALLED

My idea now is create the differents vlans and configure the differents vms with the right VLAN we have planned.

VLAN1

COMPUTER 1

COMPUTER 2

VLAN2

COMPUTER 3

COMPUTER 4

VLAN3

VCENTER

DC

COMPUTER WITH VPSHERE CLIENT INSTALLED

I am afrraid that configuring the VLANS I lost the connectivity from :

-Headquarter to vcenter

-Vcenter to the other computers in differents VLANS

Any advice to create the vlans without losing connectivity?

Thanks in advance

1)Trucking  has to be enabled on the physical network between the vLAN’s so that communication is open between different vLAN’s

2)Create Port group on the host for the respective vLAN ID’s

3)Goto VM EDIT settings and change the network to the respective port group.

Ok, thanks for the reply

Those steps are known for me.

I am afraid I will loss the connectivy to virtual center to all vlans..

Will the vcenter able to connect to all vlans after configuring the vlans?

I know it is a basic question.

Thanks for your help
