Problem upgrading from ESXi4 to ESXi4u1 on Dell r710

HW: DELL PE R710 with only internal/local harddrives. No SAN.

ESXi4 is installed on the disk system, NO USB och other memory card.

I have installed the latest version of the client tools (VMware-viclient-all-4.0.0-208111.exe) on a Windows Server 2003 x86.

When I try to upgrade the esx host from version ESXi 4.0.0 build-193498 to ESXi-4.0.0-1.9.208167-upgrade-release.zip I get an error message saying: "Input string was not in a correct format" see attatched screen dump.

I have tried to run the Host Update Utility from a Windows 7 x64 host with the same result so I do not think the error is in the client, rather it's something on the host. But what?

Try to run the tool from a XP machine.

Or with XP mode of Windows 7.
