ESXi 5.5.0 memory leak

Hello

We have had a memory leak problem for a while and we can't find any official justification to upgrade our hosts. We need official justification to upgrade it as we have to present it as why we are doing it.

The server is ProLiant DL380p Gen8 is there a fix for the memory leak if so what is it?

Thank you

Nathaniel

Can you provide a bit more information on the symptoms you observed and the troubleshooting you've done?

Which update/build are you currently running, and to which version are you contemplating upgrading?

Cheers,

the host became unresponsive in vcenter but the vm continued to run. Veeam was unable to backup too

Its ESXi 5.5.0 patch level is 3116895

We have looking into upgrading to ESX 6

We have the same issue with vc 6u2 and 5.5 but it seems that in ESX 6U2 the memory Leak in vpxa was fixed, no crashes so far (in 5.5 it crashed every 2 days or so).

Ah great, have you got any official artical or any KB's that prove this so we can provide this to have the update go through.

No. We and VMware Support were monitoring this the last few days...

Case is still open and I still give green light to VMware if it stays stable for a month because it took quite some time with ESX 6U1 to occour.
