Hi, I am unable to get Dell OpenManage working on ESXi 4 Update 1 and I'm hoping I can get the answers here.
I have checked the many other discussions but I seem to have a different problem.
I have installed all current patches, then OM 6.2, enabled the UserVar CIM=1, rebooted lots, checked the services were running (restarted too).
However, when I try to connect via https://<servername/ip address>:1311/ I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
Since ESXi 4 doesn't have netstat or lsof I cannot check what ports are open. Trying an ssh connection to 1311 I get 'Connection Refused'.
Any ideas?

I never used OpenManage, so this is just a guess.

Just want to make sure the variable's name is "CIMOEMProvidersEnabled"
Did you check the firewall settings on the host (esxcfg-firewall) yet.

Sadly the correct "CIMOEMProvidersEnabled" is indeed set to 1 and as this is ESXi there is no firewall.
Well, no esxcfg-firewall anyway
I think I have the answer.
I shouldn't have gone to the IP of the ESXi server, but to the IP of another server that allows me to put in the IP address.
That works.
I too am not familiar with Dell's OM or DMC. I didn't know there was another part to it.
