Cold clone Linux

I'm planning to cold clone Linux, this Linux has MySQL / sendmail / HTTPD , please someone give me experience for this task .

Do you mean clone or a converter for a physical to virtual?

I assume the second one.

As I remember, cold clone is not supported on Linux.

But Linux is more simple... you can stop all services (expect SSH and networking) and make a hot convert.

Although may not supported, you can try cold clone version 3.+. I have major success rate before with this converter. BTW, as mentioned by Andrea, try hot clone first, stop all services except ssh than start conversion. Current converter play very well on most famous distro now.

ok, I want to try hot clone wihout off any Linux service, it is because users have to use its.

If it ok, I will off all Linux service for hot clone.

If it's hot clone, then the data changes might not be consistent between the physical and virtual thereafter, Of course if you know where to export the data and reimport into virtual machine later, then it is doable.
