Some details might be helpful. Do you use a backup application which might have crashed and now locks any file? In case this is single host and you are not using automatic startup/shutdown it restarting the Management Agents might resolve the issue.

Hi,

You have to follow the below steps

  1. Restart the management agents on the ESXi host
  2. Connect to the ESXi host from the vSphere Client and create a snapshot.  Right-click the virtual machine and click Snapshot > Take  Snapshot.
  3. Perform a Delete All operation. Right-click the virtual machine, and  click Snapshot > Snapshot Manager > Delete All

If the issue is still persisting you can follow http://kb.vmware.com/kb/10051
