Error when try to convert VPC Images

Hi all,

I've download VMWare Converter 3 and try to convert Virtual Server Images to VMWare, sometimes it's works sometimes it shown an error like this picture below..

This error occur after this window
'Retrieving Operating system information'

What's wrong with my system or the converter or the Virtual Server images?

What OS is your VPC VM? What OS is Converter running on?

my VPC OS is Windows 2003 R2, my OS is Windows XP Sp2

It could be a number of things.

1) do you have mirrored volumes in the VM? If so, you may need to break them.

2) do you have anything unusual in the boot.ini? Are there other partions there? You may need to modify the boot.ini.

3) is the VM powered on? If so, you will need to select "physical machine" and connect to the VM.

4) there may be an incompatibility with W2K3 R2. Try running Converter from another instance of W2K3 R2 instead of XP SP2.
