Hi All,
For example I have one SAN that is shared (can be accessed) by two ESXi 4 servers, How am I supposed to backup the VMs the SAN ?
Is thereany standard or free tools to perform backup and recovery for us to use in ESXi 4 enviroment ?
Thanks

but...is it free?
sadly no but at least that is the least amount of money that your company can pay to get vSPhere Essentials + Platinum support 1 year. about AUD $ 1600 and believe me your life will be much more productive and not worry about the backup plan and managing VM

because i am using esxi...the script ghettoVCB4i.sh is PERFECT! but why is ignoring virtual machines with a disk in raw.....?
Hi JLopezG,
I've found out that VCB v1.5 could not back up my Solaris 10 VM which is
hosting my Oracle DB with the attached Physical RDM partition. If anyone know the solution please post it here, thanks.
Kind Regards,
AWT
You should really start a new thread about this. The RDM is most likely in physical mode and cannot be backed up using VCB. Check out my VCB Proven Practice Guide on VI:OPS -> http://viops.vmware.com/home/docs/DOC-1392
