Vmotion (HA)

Hi,

Does HA needs Vmotion license? Can I enable HA with out Vmotion License?

Please advise?? Thanks in advance..

No, HA doesn't need VMotion. HA comes into play when a ESX host crashes. It the restarts the guest on a different host (cluster-like).

VMotion moves a guest online while the source and destination ESX hosts are available.

HA does a restart not a VMotion.
