When I attempt to enabled FT Logging on a VMkernel port, I get-
"a general system error occurred: vmodl.fault.MethodNotFound"
My servers are compatible with FT and they pass every test in the Site Survey tool except the requirement to enable FT logging. I have tried enabling FT logging on two different brands of servers with two different physical NICs and I get the same results. The NICs are connected to a switch and vSphere says they are up and running at 1000Mb. I can enable VMotion on the same NIC without issue. I have put the FT logging NIC on its own subnet and I have tried to enabled FT logging with the server in or out of the HA cluster. I am also licensed for FT (under eval). I have tried rebooting vCenter and the ESX host, all to no avail.
Please help me to get FT logging enabled - I really want to try out FT !
Thank you, David Davis
I am not an expert in this. But it looks like an installation issue. Might be that your VC and esx versions are not compatible?
@davidmdavis Not sure but it is worth checking out this for sure: http://bit.ly/kvKvI
@davidmdavis Also, why not install the 7/9 patches that just came out? Maybe one of them addresses the issue.

This problem has been solved by upgrading my vCenter server from 4.0.0 build 140742 to 4.0.0 build 162856.
Thanks to all who responded!!
