vCenter join in AD?

I must manage two hosts with vCenter, I have no physical domain controller but only as a virtual machine.

VCenter is preferable to do join at domain or i can leave in workgroup?

It is preferable to have it as a member of AD that way you can tae advantage of the AD's users and groups for assigining permissions but you can leave it as part of workgroup and you will have to manage the user and groups on that machine -
