Patch vcenter server 7

Hi

I wanted to patch vcenter Server 7.03 and I have attached newest ISO. When going to appliance and update from CD ROM it always shows empty. So i have decided to try again to detach ISO file from vCenter server appliance VM but now it is welded to this machine and you cannot detach this cd if i try to do that all services of vcenter go down and then they come back in about 15 minutes

ANybody has explanation why detaching ISO file from vcenter virtual machine would cause machine to become unresponsive. I have never had this before and patched many servers but this one simply cannot be done

Does it need internet to do that as all other servers are connected to internet and this one is not

Please describe what you mean with "newest ISO".  I asume that you have download the latest INSTALL ISO which is the wrong one.  You need the VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-7.0.3.01400-21477706-patch-FP.iso which can be found on https://customerconnect.vmware.com/patch if you select "VC" as product and filter by 7.x
