License Question Downgrade

If I downgrade my 5 licenses to 4, can I later upgrade them back to 5 (without cost)?  Or is this like the 4 to 3 downgrade, where it is one way.

I didn't try this myself, but I'm quite sure you will be able to upgrade again in the portal (free of charge). Anything else wouldn't make much sense. Since only vSphere 5 licenses are offered by now and a lot of customers did not upgrade yet, they would have to pay twice if they need additional licenses for the existing environment.

There should be no cost to upgrade a vSphere 5 license that was downgraded however you will have to generate a new license key
