Adding on older component to a new ESXi image

Hi.

My organisation is in the proces of migrating from Baselines to Images. So far so good. I am runnning into an issue with our older Dell Servers that only support ESXi 7.

I need the IDRAC Service module in my images, but the the newest ESXi 7 image only offers version 5.2, that fails since it is only supported on ESXi 8. How can I add the older version 4.3 to my image?

Do you have a Dell account where you can still download the iDARC 4.3 module?  You may have to manually add the component before the image creation.

I would also check through Dell support what compatibility their iDRAC series have against VMware versions. Look at it from both sides to see if there is a path.

You may also have to consider that the older Dell servers may need to be classified a different way due to potential conflicts in compatibility of the different software components.
