I'm looking for some opinions / feedback as to whether someone who is familiar with PowerCLI will have specific reasons to have to learn vCLI as new releases of VMware come out. Are there essential things from an administration standpoint that can't be done with PowerCLI or are much harder. Is vCLI an essential add-on to an administrator's tookit or an optional one? Thanks
I don't think you will need vCLI when you have PowerCLI.
I think the PowerCLI Community threads and the numerous blogs out there have shown sufficiently that all the vCLI functionality, afaik, can be done with PowerCLI.
It's a matter of taste, if you like PowerShell and work in a primarily Windows environment, you will be probably be better of concetrating on PowerShell and PowerCLI.
