trying to run vmware-cmd

when I try to run vmware-cmd from a putty session on the host the commands work great

but when I try to do it via vma it tells me Host not found

I have tried by IP

FQDN

per the cli guide I am entering

vmware-cmd -H -l

I have confirmed I can ping both host and vc via ip and by name

entire enviroment in 4.0 update 2

Any guidence to what I am doing wrong would be helpful

Are you specifying the host name as it is known to vCenter Server - i.e. esx01 is not the same as esx01.fqdn.com. If vCenter knows the host by fqdn then you need to use it.
