Hello,

Welcome to the Forums. Your post has been moved to the Security Forum.

Which vShield product are you trying to use?

  • vShield App

  • vShield Endpoint

  • vShield Edge

  • vShield Zones

For vShield App, Edge, and Zones, protection should be automatic based on where you place the VM (i.e. which vSwitch and portgroup is in use) and what 'policy' is defined for protections.

If you do not have vShield App, Edge, or Zones configured yet, then you will need to configure them first.

For vShield Endpoint, you will have to do some extra stuff during provisioning....

  • Install the vShield Endpoint Driver

  • Perhaps register the VM within the Endpoint virtual appliance

But since no one has Endpoint OUT yet, only in beta the second one is unknown.
