vCenter Collector Service status: Unreachable

Hi all,

can any one help me?

I have installed a vCenter Server 4, two esx 4 and a Guided consolidation module.

when I check my Guided consolidation configuration status, I found that the vCenter Collector Service status is Unreachable, then I try to login to my vCenter server go to administrative tool > services and check for :

1. VMware vCenter Collector provider Service

2. VMware vCenter Collector Service

both services are stop, the I try to start it, but the services couldnot be started.

error message:

"Could not start the VMware vCenter Collector Service service on local computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start"

can any one help me on this issues?

I had IIS disabled, so enabling fixed this issue.

I have the same problem but I do not have IIS installed; how can I solve it ?

Take a look at the properties of the 2 services and look at the dependencies tab.   It sounds like one of those services relies on another service and that service (possibly HTTP SSL) isn't started.
