update manager with a proxy

Hello,

We need to install Update manager using a proxy.

Could you tell what I need to install on the proxy (DMZ) and what I need on virtual Center ?

Thank you

Dominic

In DMZ you must have a Windows system with Update Manager Download Service (UMDS, available on vCenter ISO).

Then you have to copy the downloaded files in your VUM server and import them.

Hi,

Firstly, please set the required proxy on your browser.

And while installing Update manager, you'll get an option to provide proxy details. Make sure they match the settings in your browser.

You don't need to do anything on VirtualCenter Server side.

Thanks

Virtualcenter server cannot connect the internet (security) so we have to use another windows server on a DMZ to download patches and VC have to use this server to updates ESX Server.

What is the best way to do this ?
