Unable to connect to the MKS: Error connecting to /vmfs/volumes/<GUID>/test.vmx because VMX is not started

Hello All,

This is my first post.

I get the subject line error message on my vsprerr client. After few minutes of this error message in any of the 20 VM guest image.

The host and other guest images will show disconnected and will not get connected back, Unless you reboot the host machine.

Vspere client version: 4.0.0

ESX 4.0

Attached: Error screen short.

Many thanks in advance.

Check this KB

if it doesnt help chk the below,

1) Edit the settings of the virtual machine, click the Options tab and make sure that the guest operating system version is correct. This can cause this error, so make sure you select the correct OS. E.g. “Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)”.

2) Try removing the virtual machine from the vCenter inventory and re-adding it.

3) Try restarting the VMware management agents (service mgmt-vmware restart and service vmware-vpxa restart).
