Has anyone successfully gotten Windows 2008 Server Hyper-V working inside a guest in ESX? Was playing around with it yesterday and the install kept complaining about not finding a VT/AMD-V compatible processor, which I know the ones in my Dell 6950 are. I'm assuming those features are being masked by ESX, as it's enabled in the BIOS.
No big deal if it can't be done, as I just wanted to check out Hyper-V and don't have any other compatible systems laying around to test it on. :smileyshocked:)
Hi Joe, the problem is that the virtual CPU is not able to use Intel VT. See this discussion - http://communities.vmware.com/message/822827#822827
What you do is run a Windows XP machine on ESX then run workstation on that VM with a Server 2008 machine running on that. JUST KIDDING. Wouldn't running a virtulaziation platform on a virtual machine cause a rift in the space time continuium?

Hmm... Wonder why that tread didn't show up when I searched on Hyper-V. Oh well...
