64-bit VmWare Tools difference?

I am testing out Windows 2008 64-bit VM and I'm installing VmWare tools via VirtualCenter. Tools installed fine, but it looks a lot like the 32-bit version. Mostly because I noticed that Win2k8 has two different paths: one under c:\program files(32-bit) and one for c:\program files The tools install goes under the 32 bit folder. How do I know I'm using the 64-bit tools version? Also, I did choose "Windows 2008(64-bit) in the VM options under Edit Settings.

the tools come from ESX which is 32bit, while you can run and x64bit guest and applications, the VMware Tools are still 32bit.
