You can also try the command line OVF Tool to convert the virtual appliance from OVF to VMX.

I am still looking for the VA named "Nostalgia".
After installing an ESXi server I could easily download Nostalgia as a VA for ESXi. However, even using VMware Converter, I was unable to convert it to a VM to be used with VMware Player or with VMware Server.
Can anybody please suggest any trick?
