Where can I find the vmware tools .isos in vSphere 6.7

Hi, I am having a problem with installing vmware tools on some of my guest OS.

I am trying to install the tools on a test Windows XP machine and it is saying that it cant find the winPreVista.iso

Is there a location where I can find the vmwaretool .isos in my binaries, or somewhere that I can download them.

I also understand that I can download 10.0.12-4448496-i386.exe and run that locally on the VM.

But I would prefer to have a winPreVista.iso

Thanks

Older versions of VMware Tools no longer ship with ESXi. You will have to find and download 10.0.12, which is the latest version to support XP.

You can grab the older iso for tools from this location

Hi daphnissov

That's what I managed to do eventually.

The only problem that I encountered was that I couldn't find 10.0.12 in the .iso format. So I had to mess about with getting the .exe  and then I copied it onto the vm and installed it that way.

Thanks

Thanks, I managed to get the 10.0.12 exe and install it on my VM.

Things seem to be working ok but it's not ideal and it is a bit of a manual process.

Especially if I have lots of VMs to deploy.

As a workaround I might be able to make a template out of the VM with the tools already pre-installed.

Thanks
