thanks a lot!!!!
A 5-day Install, Configure and Manage course is mandatory for the VCP-DCV certification:
VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V6.7]

Hello,
Thanks a lot!
I am planning to take ON DEMAND TRAINING series
Is on demand will be having hands-on module also or only video series ?
What you think about on demand video series reviews? Is it worth buying ON DEMAND PACKAGE ?
There is no on-demand training replacement for the ICM course. But you can also attend the live online course, which is proctored and also includes practical exercises with hand-on labs:
This 5 day ICM course itself actually starts at 0. There is no need for preparation. However, I think the classroom training is better if you are new, because you can better ask questions and the trainer can help you at your workplace.
In addition, there are the official Hands-On Labs (https://labs.hol.vmware.com/HOL/catalogs/catalog/1212 ) from VMware and videos at the VMware Learning Zone. But I would only do these after the ICM course to deepen my knowledge.
Hello,
yes you are right that classroom training is best but its expensive so i am planning to take on demand video series
i request you to please put more light on how ON-DEMAND series works? means
1) how many hours of videos are there in ON DEMAND?
2) does it has hands-on practicals also?
validity is 30 days only
thank you!
If you are aiming for VCP or VCAP certification, there is no alternative. You need a qualified 5-day course. It is a prerequisite for these certifications. And for beginners the best mandatory course is the Install, Configure, Manage course (ICM). This course can be taken in a classroom with a trainer (there are qualified training centers in every major city around the world) or in a live online delivery mode. But the costs are usually high for both.
If you just want to learn something and don't care about the certifications you can take the on-demand videos from the mylearn and learningzone portal and complete the hands-on labs. There are many free resources.
i request you to please put more light on how ON-DEMAND series works?
Which on-demand series do you mean? Can you please provide a link?
Oh, okay. I missed the fact that the ICM course is now also available as an on-demand course. In that case please excuse the confusion.
But unfortunately I don't know this on-demand course and can't tell you exactly how it works. But I suspect that either links to Hands-On Labs will be displayed so that you can complete these lab exercises to the videos sessions or that it is directly embedded in the interface. An ICM course without hands-on experience makes no sense otherwise.
But if I look at the price for this On-Demand course (for me it's 3400 USD), I'd consider if you'd rather take the Live Online or Classroom course.
The live online course costs me 4100 USD and the classroom course in my area costs about 3500 USD. I'd check that out if I were you. Simply search for "vmware install configure manage course [YOUR COUNTRY OR REGION]" and check if it is a qualified training center.
Especially if you are new in VMware infrastructures and want to take several exams, it would be very helpful if you can ask questions. Because there will be moments when you won't understand something and in the on-demand course you'll be lost then.
thanks a lot for your replies and time
regards,
Hello,
so still 6.5 version exams like VCP DCV 6.5 and VCAP 6.5 are valid to go for certfications or only certifications VCP DCV 2019 and VCAP 2018 are valid?
thank you!!!
All these certifications are valid as the certifications do not expire anymore. However, the versions VC(A)P-DCV 6.5 and 2018 have vSphere 6.5 as base and the version 2019 is for vSphere 6.7. And all further certifications (VCAP, VCDX) in one track must be in the same version. So if you are doing VCP-DCV 2019, the VCAP certifications must also be done in version 2019 (and they are not all updated yet).
