Hi to all,
I've two infrastructure:
1) vCenter 5.1.0 build 880146 with 6 host 5.1 upd1
2) vcenter 5.5 upd 1
I want to move hosts from vc 5.1 to new vc 5.5
I've export vDS 5.1 from vcenter 5.1 to vcenter 5.5
I've moved and added 4 Hosts without problem to new vc 5.5 and vDS
Now when I try to add the last 2 hosts to vDS I received this error:
vDS operation failed on host esx06.sf.local, got (vim.fault.ResourceInUse) exception
vDS operation failed on host esx07.sf.local, got (vim.fault.ResourceInUse) exception
How can I move the last hosts?
Thanks to all for any suggestions.
Can you try putting host into maintenance mode one by one and try adding them to DVS switch ?
Hi
Do you have any VMs or any VMkernels on those hosts?
If you have VMs but not connected to VDS, check if the VMs have any snapshot and snapshot is still using/pointing to VDS.
See these links for the solutions:

The VMs do not have, snapshot.
There are VMs on this host.
Since I could not move the vms in business hours, I wanted to move them as you did for the other hosts.
Putting hosts into maintanance, are added with no problems.
Thanks to all
I too had a same issue "vim.fault.ResourceInUse" issue while adding the host into vCenter server.
I have rebooted the host fixed the issue, host in vDS now.
