Concurrent vSphere Web Client Connections

In the vSphere 6.5 Configuration Maximums in the vCenter Server Maximums it list the following for the Web Client:

  • Concurrent vSphere Web Clients (Flex) connections to vCenter Server (Limit is applicable for both linked mode and per VC) 180

  • Maximum mixed vSphere Client (HTML5) + vSphere Web Client simultaneous connections per VC 60 (30 Flex, 30 maximum HTML5)

Is the Flex limit hard coded? And does the limit apply to Enhanced Linked Mode (two vCenters and one external Platform services controller)?

Is the mixed client max also hard coded?

Is there a reason for the limits? Is there a way around the limits?

Thanks for any input.

Can you please elaborate the use case for using the more than 180 web client connection at a time.

Classroom environment where, in a potential worst case scenario, all students login at the same time.
