Can't clone an encrypted template/VM since vCenter 8 migration

Hi,

Does anybody had already had this error/message?

It seems I have this issue since I migrated my vCenter to v8. VM template has a virtual TPM and is encrypted and all my hosts still run VMware ESXi, 7.0.3, 21424296 (latest patch available this day)

I've the same result with both of TPM provision options :

Everything was working fine before with vCenter 7 and I was able to clone my Windows 2022 template.

A "standard" Windows 2019 template can be cloned without any issue and DRS has nothing to do with, it is the same result on another datastore.

Any clue? Thx in advance 😉

Hi there,

So the solution for me was to upgrade all hosts with ESXi 8.0.

I accelerated my migration, it wasn't planned so quickly but at the end, it was the anyway the direction... 😉
