I have a mighty machine with 64 virtual cores, and I need to load 5 VMs that need 8 cores a piece. can the VM workstation pro handle. this?
Are there any limitations in workstation via giving cores to a vm?
There should be no limitation to cores per VM other than even numbers work best (after just one core of course). If you have to run all 5 VMs concurrently at 100% load...you might see some performance drop from a CPU perspective, but I'd be surprised if you did.
Also assuming you have plenty of MEM/Disk available on your host machine for these robust VMs.
Good luck1
Cool , that answered my question, Hyper V wants to charge me per core. and yes 256 of ram , so I'm good. Last question is there a conversion tool to convert a hyper v to a vmdx ? does the VM converter do this?
