vhd hard disk -- operating system not found

I virtualized a system image using macrium reflect

It outputs as as VHD file

I added it as a hard disk to a VM created in VMware Workstation 12 Player

I get the error: Operation system not found

the hard disk is being treated as SCSI

virtual device node is 0:0

okay, so I tried converting it to vmdk, using winimage.

but winimage gives me the error that I am trying to open a hard disk image without a fat or fat32 partition.

the winimage help tells me that if the filedisk driver is installed, then it can mount the fat partition, using fixed size format.

so how do I get this driver, and what do I do with it?

please help

okay I think I got it sorted out. instead of "open" from the file menu, the right choice is "convert" in the disk menu

Try another virtualisation tool, like disk2vhd.

Welcome to community of VMware Workstation.

I think you just want to create a virtual machine with your current physical enviroment. VMware Workstation supply a function to covert a phyiscal machine to a Virtual Machine directly.
