Hi all.
Google-ing is of no help.
Host: Windows Server 2012 as a DC, with DHCP Server running. Mac Mini Late 2012. VMware Workstation July 2013 Preview.
Guest: All guests, and all bridged to VMnet2.
Nics:
VMnet1 - Bridged to wired adapter, static address
VMnet2 - Bridged to wireless adapter and connected to a wireless router. Windows DHCP Server running on VMware host and router's embedded DHCP server is turned off. IP: 192.168.0.10
Wireless Router: 192.168.0.1, DHCP turned off.
Symptom:
Clients physically connected to Wi-Fi router (3 phones and a laptop) can get address from the Host computer, (eg. 192.168.0.120, 192.168.0.121, etc.)
but VMs running on the Host won't get DHCP messages (and no IP) thus being unable to connect to the Internet.
Manually setting static IP in guests allows access to the Internet. (eg. manually set static ip to 192.168.0.15)
Help needed.
Thanks!
Maybe try to consolidate bridged network to one adapter. By default, it's VMnet0 that is assigned for Bridged (while your VMnet0 was defined for other things).
And then for Bridged config, select the physical adapters which will broadcast DHCP messages.
