I need to set the setting "monitor_control.disable_directexec = "TRUE"". However, when I do so Windows 8 will not load. It renders fine until it gets to the login screen, then it stops rendering the display. The login screen will appear for 1/2 a second then rendering will cut out again.
Running Workstation 10. Windows 8 x86 is loaded onto it. Running from my Windows 7 x64 desktop.
I find it incredibly slow, but it does work. Can you post your vmware.log file (as an attachment)?
Even with all of the other things you've disabled, I can't reproduce your problem. Is there anything else unusual about your enviornment? Are you running nested under another hypervisor?
No, there is nothing else unusual about my setup. It is a freshly created instance. It works great with disable_directexec="FALSE" as soon as I turn it on I run into this issue.
System Specs in case it matters:
Core i7 2600k
16GB RAM
NVIDIA 780GTX
I got it to work by downgrading to an earlier version of VMWare.
Thanks for the help.
