I need to have VM Workstation installed for a course I am taking and when I tried to download it onto my Windows 7 64-bit home PC, I received the error message in the subject line whenever I attempted to run the VMWare Installation launcher. The syllabus for my class was written instructing to download version 7, but I received a different error when I tried to download that version (that my computer did not meet the system requirements, which is not true), so I found the newest version (12) and upon opening the installation launcher for that, I was unable to proceed with the setup.
Is there any code in the vminstutil .txt file (which is in the same folder as the launcher) or any temporary text file which was created when the install launch was started that needs to be edited in order for the installation setup to fully finish or will simply restarting my PC fix this error?
