Unable to change virtual machine power state: The file specified is not a virtual disk

One of our users is getting this error:

"Unable  to change virtual machine power state: The file specified is not a virtual disk."

Is there a file that is keeping the VM from opening properly. He is running Workstation 8.0.4 on RHEL 6.2 32-bit

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Community,

Please attach the VM's vmware.log file to your next post to see whether this contains some hints which may help solving this issue.

the vmdk might be moved or corrupt. if ": The file specified is not a virtual disk.""

create another guest with the same vmdk.

see ifthat powers on
