The "LPT1" device is used by another program when this isn't true

VMWare Workstation 12.5.2 on W10 x64 cannot connect the LPT1 port to a VM

And NO it is NOT in use by any other program.  I need to be able to use this.  I could in earlier release.

FWIW here's the vmx file - tells you nothing about the missing vmparport.sys driver which I eventually found after a HUGE amount ot internet searching.

This problem should be a sticky at the start of the forum.
