Hi all
After booting the Server2012R2 guest, my host crashes with a kernel panic.
Thins happens EVERY! time a few seconds after guest has completely booted and a user did log in.
So it easily can be reproduced.
Host: CentOS 6.5 x86_64
Guest: Windows Server 2012 R2 x86_64
VMware Workstation 10.0.1
Here's a screenshot of the kernel panic:
I found KB and support forum threads with PSODs on ESXi and I think it somehow could be related, but the workarounds there (changing NIC to vmxnet etc) didn't help, so I'm not sure, it it's really related.
Btw: If someone from VMware reads this, I tried to open a support request, but after filling out the form, I got a "Unable to Complete Your Request" after clicking submit. That was somewhat annoying....
Thank's and best regards
Armin
Does the same happen if you disable vmci for that VM ?
set
vmci0.present = "FALSE"
in the vmxy-file

Wow continuum, thank's!
That one seems to have solved the problem. The VM isn't running for too long now, but as it used to crash the host just a few seconds after booting, it really looks promising now!
I have read a bit about VMCI, but I'm not really sure if disabling it has some negative side effects? I read about the API and what it could be used for, but I have no clue, if it actually is used for something.
Thank's again!
