Poor performance when running VMs using NAT.

Host:  Ubuntu 14.04 64bit. i7, 16GB memory, SSD. System76.

VM: Windows 7 64bit.

VMWare workstation: 10.0.5 build-2443746

When using NAT, pings from the host to the gateway are at about 600ms. When switching to bridge, pings from the host to the gateway are ~1-2ms.

Anyone experienced the same?

Have you tried the "Restore Defaults" button in the virtual network editor?

I don't have such button

However I do have two NAT networks. Once I choose a specific vmnet, it works with the same performance as bridged.

So thanks for directing me there...
