you need to download VMware Workstation 7 (now 7.0.1), which is the version that supports Windows 7

Hi,

so many issues can happens when installing Workstation 6 on Windows 7. Because Workstation doesn't support Windows 7.

Then you should install Workstation 7.01 that supports officially Windows 7.

Pablo

You can have Windows 7 as a GUEST under VMware Workstation 6.5.3 (with "experiemental" support of the Win 7 guest).

You NEED VMware Workstation 7 (or newer) if your HOST OS is Windows 7.

It's all listed in the VMware Compatibiltiy guide under Guest/Host OS... http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php

If you're still having network connection issues under Windows 7, completely disable IPv6 for the host and guest systems. Unless you're actually on a network where it's in active use, it's doing you no good. In fact, I've seen it (more than a few times) cause major network issues. Especially if IPv4 is still in use.
