OpenGL Fog not applied correctly, example program attached

In the example program (written in Delphi, exe is also included) there are 2 triangles with their starting tips at -10 and the base comming towards the viewer along the Z axis.

Fog is applied to make the triangle fade away when it is closer.
One triangle the base extends to 0 (Z), the other extends behind the viewer (+10).  However, they should look identical as the fog should make them invisible at the same point.
This looks as expected on a physical machine, but when run in the VM the triangle which extends behind the viewer does not have the fog correctly applied.

To reproduce the problem run the program in the vm, then run it on the physical machine.

In addition the attached sample program are 2 images showing the issue.
