No guest internet access (bridged network on Vista host)

I have installed workstation 6.5 on a Vista system, and installed a Windows XP and Windows Vista guest using BRIDGED networking. I require dedicated IP address on my network for the guests, so NAT is not an option. I am able to access the guests from the network, but the guests cannot gain access to the internet.

IPCONFIG output of the guests matches physical machine specs, including dns suffix, DNS servers. Basically, local network functions ok, but no access outside of the 192.168.1.xxx network.

Any suggestions???

Is the gateway IP the same on both vm and the host? Usually the gateway will prevent access to the Internet. And can the host access the Internet if both guest and host are configured the same?

Not sure of how to fix it Yet but I think the issue is your Host VIsta putting the Network connection in 'Local Only' status. Thus blocking the internet traffic. Still researching on how to switch it to a more trusted state.

If troubleshooting a network issue, please include the following additional information.

• Post the output from "ipconfig /all" (Windows) or " ifconfig -a" (Linux) from both the host and the guest OS

• Post the .vmx file from the virtual machine.

• Details of how your host is connected to the network / Internet (Cable Modem, DSL, Router, Switch, Wired, Wireless,...).

• Details on how networking is configured for the guest (NAT, bridged, host-only).

Do you have more than one physical network adapter installed in the host?

Does the physical network adapter have the VMware Bridge protocol installed?

I have somewhat the same problem, but on a windows 7 host.

I'm using vmware player 3.1.1 on a windows 7 (64-bit) host machine with dual NIC.
My mobo is ASUS striker II extreme with Nvivdia nforce 790i ultra.

I have configured my machine to team up my NIC's to one. But since then i can't acces to the internet at my Virtual machines (guests).

My guest is configured to bridge and is having a ip adres from my dhcp server. (so far everything looks correct)

I can acces from the guest to my host, but not from my host to the guest and i can't access the internet from my guest.
My host is connected by two physical LAN cables.

I have tried in vmnetcfg to exclude the virtual team network adapter, but then i have no connection at all at my guest.
Also i can't choose to link one of my physical NIC's to VMnet0 beceause they are not showed by the virtual network editor when my host is configured as team NIC.
I can select my physical NIC when no team NIC is confgured.

But what i want is team up my host and my guests configured as bridge to acces the internet?
How can i manage that?
