VMWare Workstation: 8.0.1 build-528992
VMWare Player: 4.0.1 build-528992
I didn't know if I should post this under VMware Player or VMware Workstation. The problem started after upgrading to VMws 8.0.1
Host: Windows 7 Pro, 64 Bit, Core 2 Duo, 3.0GHz, 8GB RAM (Dell Precision M4400 laptop)
VM: Windows 7 Pro, 32 Bit, running under VMware Player
When the Windows 7/64 host goes into screen saver mode, the Control-Alt-Del key sequences does nothing. It seems like the command is going to the VM which, of course, does nothing with it.
I have discovered that if I activate the "on screen" keyboard (either by the on-screen ICON or by pressing the SHIFT key 5 times quickly), and send a Control-Alt-Del from there then enter the password via the onscreen keyboard, the Host wakes up and resumes normal processing. Pressing any keys to "unlock" a sticky key does not seem to work: I've tried control, alt. shift, caps lock, esc, tab, Windows.
I have not tried to replicate the problem under VMware Workstation.
