Having upgraded to workstation 6.5.3 my virtual machines using the virtual NAT device (VMnet8) no longer was able to access the DNS servers seen from the host machine (running Windows XP).
Autodetection of DNS servers is enabled in the virtual network editor. However, it appears to have no effect.
If I use bridged networking or add a specific DNS server to the NAT network (using the virtual network editor), the problem is resolved. This solution will however cause problems if I need to distribute the virtual machine to somebody else.
Has anybody got any suggestions?
