Connect VM guest to internet via iPhone tethered host

Hi

I have a  Windows8 host running a linux guest.  When I'm at home on the wireless I can connect to the internet from the linux guest system using a bridged connection.

When working away from home I can connect to the internet via a tethered iPhone on 3G.  However, I can't get the guest linux system to connect.

Is this scenario possible.

Yes it should be doable, I've done it with my iPhone, although you'll need to change the VM's Network to NAT.
