Hey there,
Brand new to this Virtual Machine thing but I use Linux on a separate computer so i decided to start with that.
Problem - when Ubuntu loaded I was asked for a password, but I did not give it a password to begin with!
Is there a default user and password for VMware Player or am I missing something?

It does not depen by VMware Player.
It the user password in your Ubuntu.
During the guest installation which password have your prompted?
