Hi
Update:
I tried creating a VM with a RHEL 8.5 image and it froze at 50 % of set up activity, vmware-vmx.exe was running hot
I just opened an existing RHEL 7.5 VM and no issues at all, vmware-vmx.exe is using 0.2% CPU, VM is fully responsive.
Now the fun part... WHY?
Using Windows 10 DELL (work laptop dont hold that against me) Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10885H CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz, 64GB Ram
VM Player 17
Am seeing an issue with RHEL Virtual Machines, Windows versions are fine.
I use them for a web application
I can log into it, start up tomcat and within a few minutes, VMware Workstation VMX is running at 30 % give or take CPU, Very High power usage and the VM freezes up.
This first started a months ago, then it was fine for a while
Now its back.
VM has 8GH Ram, 2 CPU Processors, 3D graphics off,
I saw an entry here mentioning turning Wayland off (not that I have any idea what that is), but the config file mentioned did not have any entry for Wayland in it.
As I write the CPU usage gas 36%
Any pointers welcome
Hello ... Thanks for posting this. I am seeing the same behavior and cannot comprehend what is happening. Hoping to see some fix for this issue. I am running a 8gig VM, Workstation v17 and RedHat Linux v9.1.
I am experiencing the same issue. I am 4GB, 4 processor VM running RHEL 8.6 on Workstation Pro 17.0.1 build-21139696
I have tried all different versions of VM Player now and nothing changes.
To the point where I cant even create a new RHEL VM as it crashes 50 % way through.
My IT team cannot locate an issue , which indicates to me it's a windows problem.
I now use Virtual BOX for RHEL VMs
Thats the only way I can resolve it right now
Hi,
Did this ever get resolved? I am facing the same issues
Thanks
