VMmark 2.1: Why ds2webdriver stop working?

VMmark 2.1, disable SVomtion and Deploy operation, the run test. But vclient0 still pop a window say "ds2webdriver.exe has stopped working", see attached picture. why? How fix this?

This should not be happening, and can often be a symptom of not having all the required software installed.  Have you installed .NET on your clients?

Thank you for your answer. I have installed the .NET, and I think perhaps because I terminate the test, so today I restart all VM, and retest, not display this error, but:

DS2WebB0 and DS2WebC0 still retry, about 24 times iteration, all returned: RC = 1, because can't start/stop

DS2WebA0 normally run 3 hours, but finally also returned: RC = 1, also because can't start/stop

Standby also normally run 3 hours, but finally also returned: RC = 1, because can't start/stop

mailserver and oliodb olioweb normally run 3 hours, and not return error.

All the three DS2Web is buy your template, and I set the hostname and hosts, but DS2WebB0/C0 not same to the DS2WebA0.

Attached file contained the results, and in the folder also have the error log html.

Seems like you might have a STAF issue here. 

1.  What version of staf and stax are installed?

2.  Are you running the English version of Windows?

3.  Can you post your staf.cfg from your primeclient/client0?

1. STAF and STAX is 3.4.5, on client0 and mailserver, but all eles VM is from template, I don't update their STAF, do I need?

2. Only vCenter Server run Chinese version, client0 and mailserver VM, studyby VM, and deploy template are English version

3. Yes, on primeclient, and can run test.

Actually, I was asking if you could attach your STAF.cfg from your primeclient/client0 to this thread.  Can you attach the following?

1.STAF.cfg from primeclient/client0

2.Hosts file from primeclient/client0

3. Any DS2Web*.wrf files, found in client0 c:\vclient0\ds2webA, c:\vclient0\ds2webB, and c:\vclient0\ds2webC

From the files you've sent over I can see that all of the DS2Web workloads are being started and run correctly.  I did notice two issues that may be causing you problems.

1.  Hosts file does not have any entries for the primeclient/client0.

2.  STAF.cfg does not have a "SET DEFAULTSTOPUSING WM_CLOSE" entry. 

You might try making these two changes and seeing if that resolves your issues.  I'd reboot all VMs and clients under test before retrying.

I do it by your instructions, include add the client0 entry at host file on primeclient/client0, and add "SET DEFAULTSTOPUSING WM_CLOSE" entry at STAF.cfg on client0, but the DS2WebB0 and DS2WebC0 still iteration, RunError. Test is running, so I think DS2WebA0 still can't normal stop. You means, "all of the DS2Web workloads are being started and run correctly", include DS2WebB0 and DS2WebC0? But why they still iteration many times? Only because can't normal stop?

The multiple iterations within DS2WebB and DS2WebC are a normal part of the benchmark.  The failures in starting and stopping the process is what is weird.

The only thing I can of to try at the moment is for you to re-download the VMmark 2 kit and reinstall it on your client (Take care in removing the VMmark2 and vclient directories).  You may want to also try reinstalling STAF/STAX.
