NSX-T Federation and AVI Advance Load Balancer

I am having trouble implementing AVI Advance Load balancer with NSX-T Federation.

The problem is that I cannot select the overlay segment for management and data networks:

That is unfortunately expected behavior. When using the NSX-T integration, you can only select local manager objects. You cannot select objects created at the GM level and pushed to the LMs.

And then how can I implement NSX ALB since I only have GM objects? Any Idea?

You have two options:

  1. Create LM objects and use those with the NSX-T integration.
  2. Don't use the NSX-T integration and manage the SEs/networks/etc. by hand.

Tnx for your information.

If we dont use the NSX-T Integration, we need additional License for AVI LB or can we use the license from NSX-T?

You can still use the NSX-T license without using the NSX-T integration. You just enter the license in the NSX ALB (AVI) interface.

Just to add on top of @jeffersonc47 words - you will receive Basic license tier with NSX-T key with multiple limitations in place. More on https://avinetworks.com/docs/22.1/nsx-alb-basic-edition/#feature-comparison-datasheets

At the very beginning you will have just 2 clouds mode - without Orchestrator or NSX cloud connector.
