iphone/iPad will not charge when Macs sleep.
the only workaround is to reboot and do not run VMware fusion since reboot.
need a fix now.
tHank you very much.
Hi BlessedBladeofWindseeker,
Would you please provide following information to help us analyse your problem?
1) Is your iPhone/iPad connected to Host or VM when Mac is in sleep mode?
2) Is your VM a Windows VM or an OS X VM?
3) Which version of Fusion are you using? Fusion 7 or Fusion 8?
4) Your host OS information.

Is Fusion and running when you experience this behavior? (i.e. Fusion is open but no VMs are running)
Is a Virtual Machine running?
Hi Geeks, thank you very much for the reply.
1) Is your iPhone/iPad connected to Host or VM when Mac is in sleep mode?
It is connected to the HOST and the Fusion is set to always connect USB devices to Mac first.
2) Is your VM a Windows VM or an OS X VM?
I run 2 VMs on my Mac Pro, windows 10 and Linux.
3) Which version of Fusion are you using? Fusion 7 or Fusion 8?
I have updated Fusion to 8.1.1 but the problem still exists since Fusion 7.
4) Your host OS information
Mac OSX 10.11.4 (the latest one) and the only Application is VMware Fusion apart from stock Apps like photos, movies etc.
5) Is Fusion and running when you experience this behavior? (i.e. Fusion is open but no VMs are running) Is a Virtual Machine running?
When VMware fusion is open, with or without any VMs running, the USB will not charge any devices when the Mac sleeps.
Even if VMware fusion is closed, the USB still doesnt charge. (it only works after a reboot before I run VMware Fusion)
My Macs: Mac Pro 2013 and Macbook air 2015
Thank you very much.
Hi BlessedBladeofWindseeker,
I tried quiet a few times today and I was able to reproduce power charging interruption issue ONLY WHEN I connected the iPhone to Windows VM then sleep the Mac host.
Then I connected my iPhone to a physical Computer with native Windows 10 installed, the power charging has been interrupted right after I set the Windows 10 to sleep mode.
So I personally guess it could relate with the Power Options of your Mac machine, please check the Energy Saver settings from System Preferences.
